坊津 | Bonotsu

 坊津（ぼうのつ）― 鹿児島県南さつま市

坊津は、九州の南西部にある鹿児島県南さつま市の海辺の町です。昔は重要な港町として栄え、日本とアジア各地を結ぶ海上交通の拠点でした。現在は南さつま市の一部となっており、美しい海岸線や山々、そして東シナ海の景色で知られています。蒲地（かまち）家、永山（ながやま）家、山口（やまぐち）家など、多くの先祖の故郷でもあります。

Bonotsu (now part of Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture)

Bonotsu is a historical coastal town located at the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. It was once an important harbour and trading port connecting southern Japan with other parts of Asia. Today, Bonotsu is part of Minamisatsuma City and is known for its beautiful coastline, mountains, and views of the East China Sea. Many families from the Kamachi (蒲地), Nagayama (永山), and Yamaguchi (山口) lineages trace their roots to this area.

  蒲地家の概要 1908年に蒲地家の一族が南米へ移住した後、日本語が次第に失われ、それとともに日本に残った親族とのつながりも途絶えていきました。わずか数世代のうちに、両家の交流は完全になくなってしまいました。 しかし、日本に残った蒲地家の方々が、海外へ移住した親族を記念して建立した記念碑のおかげで、私たちは共通のルーツを再発見し、数世代を経て再びつながることができました。 2025年、私たちは鹿児島市で蒲地家の皆様と直接お会いする機会に恵まれました。それは大変感動的な出会いでした。 私たちは一緒に先祖の故郷である坊津町を訪れました。そこで町長とお会いし、地元の蒲地家との連絡を取り持ってくださった新しい観光案内所を訪問し、先祖たちが通っていた学校を見学し、先祖たちが育った地域を歩き、さらに先祖の遺骨が納められている蒲地家の墓をお参りしました。 100年以上前の移住によって離ればなれになった家族が、この再会によって再び結ばれることになったのです。 ________________________________________________________________ Overview of the Kamachi Family After a branch of the Kamachi family emigrated to South America in 1908, the Japanese language was gradually lost, and with it the connection to the family remaining in Japan. Kamachi Chonosuke (Masato)

蒲池長之助（のちの蒲池正人）は、日本の鹿児島県に生まれました。21歳のとき、1908年に初めて日本人移民をブラジルへ運んだ移民船「笠戸丸」に乗って日本を出発しました。 ブラジルのサントス港に到着した後、彼は同国最大級のコーヒー農園の一つであるサン・マルチーニョ農園（Fazenda São Martinho）で働くことになりました。しかし、労働環境は厳しく、労働争議が発生した後、彼は坊津町出身の11人の仲間とともに農園を離れ、新たな機会を求めることを決意しました。 その後、この11人のグループはアルゼンチンのロサリオへ移住し、同国における最初期の日本人移民の一員となりました。ロサリオで蒲池正人は新しい人生を築き、成功した実業家となりました。1920年代から1930年代にかけて、彼は市内でもよく知られた日本人経営の喫茶店を運営し、それは事業としてだけでなく、現地の日系コミュニティの交流の場としても重要な役割を果たしました。 正人はハルと結婚し、アルゼンチンで家庭を築きました。彼の子孫たちはその後もアルゼンチンに住み続け、日本とのつながりを受け継いでいきました。彼の人生は、多くの初期日本人移民たちの歩みを象徴しています。すなわち、故郷を離れ、困難を乗り越え、そして南米における日本人社会の形成に貢献した人々の物語です。 _________________________________________________________________________________ Chonosuke Kamachi (later known as Masato Kamachi) was born in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
